too busy for art; this is awful.

Thu Jun 8, 2006, 5:43 AM
There's so much I should be doing.
There's a painting I need to sit over for twenty more minutes (presumably) and finish once and for all. There's another I have to start. There's a four-painting series I'm going to hinge together with gigantic square door hinges that needs to be done. There's so much goddamn work I wanna do but I have three jobs and one class and I can't deal with being this busy anymore, RAWR.

Thankfully, my last two days of one job are Tues and Thurs. The other job is sparse because it's tiding me over until I get the paycheck from my newest job, which only steals me 9-5 on Mon, Wed, and Fri. Plus it's graphic design, and points for me for having a job I actually enjoy that pays me at a good rate.
As for the class, well it's really easy (an intro math course at community college to fulfill an easy tech credit at my "real" university), but it's still taking up six hours a week in which I could be working.

It's just so hard to wait until Saturday (my errand day, no less) to work, and it would be irresponsible of me to work nights when I have to get up at 7:30 am most days. It's KILLING me in the worst way. Last night I stripped down to my underwear and painting shirt and gessoed boards for half an hour, then dragged a huge wooden door up from the basement (all the while theatrically grunting and struggling). There's, in fact, another thing I'm dying to start. I have this big white door (about 7 feet tall, almost) with a doorknob in my apartment hallway and if I don't do something with it I'll just shrivel up and cry. It's the most beautiful blank canvas I've ever seen and I don't know if simply painting it would be limited. My knowledge of 3d art is so sparse compared to my drawing/painting, so I'm wondering if I'm missing out on some amazing thing I can do with it that would require more than paint and markers.

I need a damn paycheck so I can buy out the sales at the art store, seriously.
